Material Handler - FT - Newmarket, ON

The Material Handler works on the production floor and warehouse of a busy manufacturing facility moving product and various materials to different areas.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
- Operate Forklift, bed movers (certification required), handcarts, and hydraulic jacks
- Daily inspection of forklift and bed movers
- Responsible for up-keep of forklift
- Safe transport and storage of goods received, coils, boxes, etc.
- Weigh coil & accurate documentation
- Packaging product
- Stacking goods on skids
- Distributing raw materials to production lines in a timely fashion
- Inventory / cycle counts as required
- Moving of all finished product to shipping areas
- Depositing of metal scrap in appropriate bins – steel and aluminum
- Proper stock rotation of all materials used for production. Oldest used first
- General housekeeping of work area
- Other duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess strong forklift skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communicator with staff as well as all levels of management
- Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- Thrives working in a very fast-paced environment
- Flexible to changing needs of the department
- Willingness to work to meet deadlines
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Adhere to health & safety policies and procedures at all times
Education/Certification/Experience
- Forklift and bedmover experience (3 years) and certification (Must have valid forklift certificate)
- Previous manufacturing experience (asset)

Schedule:
- Day shift - Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
Pay Range:
- $20-$23/hour
