Maintenance Mechanic - Newmarket, ON - FT

We are hiring for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Newmarket! The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of stamping presses, roll forming equipment, and automated assembly equipment in a JIT environment.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and set up of production equipment as required
• Building maintenance
• Feed coils into machines
• Make modifications to machines as necessary
• Perform test runs
• Ensure all equipment safety guards are properly in place
• Complete required inspection reports/checklists
• Operate various shop tools including lathe, milling machine
• Fabricate components for production machines
• General housekeeping of work area
• Other duties as required
• Adhere to health & safety policies and procedures at all times

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Willingness/flexibility to learn roll-forming and other processes required
• Strong organizational skills
• Willingness to work to meet deadlines
• Effective communicator with co-workers and all levels of management
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team

Education/Certification/Experience

• Strong mechanical skills
• PLC programming with Omron (1 year required)
• Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics (1 year preferred)
• Strong conventional machining and grinding skills
• Experience in precise measuring equipment (micrometer)
• Ability to read blueprints for milling and lathing (1 year preferred)
• Forklift experience and certification (preferred)
