Tourism Information Officer – Summer Job (The Fun Kind!)

The Georgina Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Information Centre is looking for Tourism Information Officers to help showcase everything that makes Georgina amazing. This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to be a community ambassador, meet new people, and gain hands-on experience in events, tourism, marketing, and business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working with the Executive Director, you’ll help bring Georgina to life for visitors and locals by:

🌟 Running our Pop-Up Events Booth and seasonal Tourism Kiosks
🌟 Attending community events and sharing info about local businesses, attractions, and upcoming events
🌟 Helping visitors plan their trips and discover everything Georgina has to offer
🌟 Creating social media posts, blogs, and fun tourism content for the summer
🌟 Developing and implementing a seasonal marketing plan
🌟 Tracking visitors and gathering insights to help improve our tourism programs
🌟 Working with local businesses to promote shop local initiatives and economic development

What We’re Looking For

Our Tourism Information Officers are:

✔ Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with people
✔ Passionate about community, tourism, and local business
✔ Interested in marketing, events, communications, business or tourism careers
✔ Creative and excited to help promote Georgina

A Few Details

Successful candidates will need to:

• Work some evenings and most weekends (including long weekends)
• Be comfortable working at multiple locations around Georgina
• Have strong communication and customer service skills
• Have access to a vehicle (an asset)

Job Term Options

You can apply for:

• 15 weeks starting in May
or
• 8 weeks starting in July

Applicants must be between 15–30 years old (grant requirement).
