Security Guard

Job Duties:

• Provide a safe and secure environment for all patrons of the establishment
• Patrol commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency and cooperate with authorities during investigations
• Provide a visible presence by circulating and checking all areas to ensure they are secure
• Monitor surveillance equipment and situations through the surveillance system
• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed
• Provide security to restaurant when required
• Respond to parking control calls when no other personnel are available and correct matter
• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and inform of proper location or procedures
• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Must be able to work independently and be reliable
• Must be able to show integrity and professionalism in appearance and mannerisms
• Proficiency in computer applications and software
• First Aid/CPR certified or ability to be certified
• Security or surveillance related experience is an asset
