This is a junior-level position suited for candidates starting their careers. Professional experience is not required; however, we are looking for someone with basic mechanical skills, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of stamping presses, roll forming equipment and automated assembly equipment in a JIT environment.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
- Daily inspection and set-up of production equipment as required
- Building maintenance
- Feed coils into machines
- Make modifications to machines as necessary
- Perform test runs
- Ensure all equipment safety guards are properly in place
- Complete required inspection reports/checklists
- Operate various shop tools including lathe, milling machine
- Fabricate components for production machines
- General housekeeping of work area
- Other duties as required
- Always adhere to health & safety policies and procedures
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Willingness/flexibility to learn roll-forming and other processes required
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work to meet deadlines
- Effective communicator with co-workers and all levels of management
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team
Education/Certification/Experience
- Strong mechanical skills
- PLC programming
- Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics (asset)
- Strong conventional machining and grinding skills
- Experience in precise measuring equipment (micrometer)
- Ability to read blueprints for milling and lathing
- Forklift experience and certification (asset)
