Helping Shape the Future of Business in Georgina
This fall, residents across Georgina will head to the polls to elect the next Mayor and Council. The decisions made by our next municipal government will have a significant impact on the local business community, and the Georgina Chamber of Commerce is committed to ensuring that business voices are heard throughout the election process.
As the recognized voice of business in Georgina, the Chamber is leading a series of non-partisan election initiatives designed to identify the issues that matter most to local businesses, encourage informed discussion, and connect candidates directly with the business community.
2026 Municipal Election Initiatives
Throughout the election campaign, the Chamber will be hosting three initiatives, including:
- Hear from the Candidates – Over 100 local businesses took part in a Business Priorities Survey in June. Results are being shared with candidates and the public. Every municipal candidate has been given the opportunity to respond to the business community's top priorities.
- All-Candidates Debates – In partnership with Rogers TV, the Georgina Chamber will be hosting televised debates for Mayoralty candidates, Regional Councillor candidates, and candidates in all 5 Wards.
- Candidate Meet and Greets – Two Meet & Greets (one in Keswick, one in Sutton) are being held to provide an opportunity for constituents to meet candidates, ask questions, and discuss local issues.
