  • The Chamber is hosting it's 4th Discover Georgina Scavenger Hunt this October - A Shop Local Edition which will focus our fantastic retailers in Georgina!

    The object of the Scavenger Hunt is to find as many locations on the list as you can, collecting points along the way within the allotted 3-hour time frame.  As teams move around Georgina, they will discover attractions, historical sites, landmarks and local businesses in all 5 wards, in all corners of the municipality! This one, however, will focus on all the shops and places to explore to support our local businesses! The event encourages participants to get out of the house while maintaining social distancing guidelines! Grab your friends, family, significant other, and/or kids, create your own team, and Discover Georgina together in a fun, interactive way.

    The top three teams with the most points WIN… but your team will not know how many points each location is worth until they are tallied up at the end, so it is anyone’s game!

  • WHEN IS IT? WHEN IS IT?

  • WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

    This is an ALL AGES event. Participants may be required to complete varying tasks at each location. However, these will be easy to complete by people of all abilities. Keep in mind that there should be a minimum of two participants on each team but from participant feedback they suggest a minimum of three! All clues will be provided to participants on Facebook and one person who is not driving the vehicle will need to record and upload your team's responses. 

  • HOW DO I PLAY? HOW DO I PLAY?

    Each team will be assigned a Facebook thread on the Scavenger Hunt event page with their team number as the title. Before the hunt begins at 1pm, your team must take a picture together and post it in the thread for us to keep track of participants. We will post the Scavenger Hunt questions at 1pm sharp with 40-50 tasks for you to complete. These will involve driving to as many of these stops as possible and taking pictures as proof or answering location-specific questions in the allotted time period. Within the list, there are mandatory stops you must hit in order to complete the hunt. Locations on the list will be worth different amounts of points depending on the difficulty. As you find locations on the list and complete the tasks, be sure to post a picture under your team thread on the Facebook page.

    The winning team will have collected the highest number of points by the end of the 3-hour period. Point values for each location will be hidden until the end of the Scavenger Hunt to encourage participants to visit a variety of locations

  • HOW FAR DO I HAVE TO TRAVEL? HOW FAR DO I HAVE TO TRAVEL?

    The hunt is all across Georgina. As far South West as Ravenshoe and Lake Drive and as far North East as Pefferlaw Road.

  • WHAT ARE MANDATORY STOPS? WHAT ARE MANDATORY STOPS?

    Mandatory stops are marked on the list as such and are locations that you are required to stop at during the Scavenger Hunt. If you miss any of the mandatory stops, you will not be entered to win any of the prizes awarded at the end of the hunt.

  • WHAT IF ONE OF MY TEAM MEMBERS CANNOT MAKE IT? WHAT IF ONE OF MY TEAM MEMBERS CANNOT MAKE IT?

    If one of your team members is not able to make it, please send a quick email to info@georginachamber.com to let us know. The prizes that you may win are based off of who is in your group so it is important that we know!

    Unfortunately, this event is non-refundable. If you would still like to pick up your team swag bags, please arrange for a pick-up date and time by emailing info@georginachamber.com.
