Al Fenton has extensive knowledge of the Carpentry trade, having been licensed for over 35 years. He is a Certified W.E.T.T. (Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc.)Inspector and has been an Independent Home Inspector for 11 years, working in the Southern and Central areas of Ontario. An active member in the Chamber of Commerce as Director (3 terms running) is an appointed Director with the GTTI (Georgina Trades Training Inc.). He also has Involvement with PI (Professionals with Integrity) which strives for the development of Georgina and surrounding area, allowing Al to give back to his community some of his trade expertise. Loving father of 7 and a proud grandfather of 10 keeps Al young and active.

Directors profile: After several years in the Insurance industry Matt Gardner joined the “New” I.C.D. Insurance Brokerage as a broker servicing Georgina and the surrounding areas. Matt together with his wife Shannon has been involved in the insurance industry for eight years. Matt started his insurance career in the claims department helping people when there insurance really mattered. Along with an insurance background Matt’s professional portfolio include Regional Distribution, Sales, Marketing and Advertising. As a 20 year resident to Georgina and someone who believes strongly in family values Matt wants nothing more than to see this tight knit community grow in a positive fashion for both business’s and residence.

Treasurer / Secretary profile: Jason Laidler, B.Sc. (Honours), CFP, CSA, TEP, has been in the financial services industry for the past 10 years. Jason advises his clients on simple, tried and true financial planning concepts as well as more sophisticated investment, insurance and estate planning strategies for individuals and business owners. Jason plays the bagpipes and loves all things Scottish including haggis! This has led him to develop his "Piping Planner" persona which he uses when presenting to seniors’ clubs, church groups, and the like -- complete with the kilt and pipe tunes to keep people from dozing off. For the past few years Jason has been serving as a director of the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFPs).

Directors profile: After moving to Georgina in 1988, Renee became an active member of this community, volunteering with Jackson’s Point Village Association, York Region’s Premier-Ranked Tourist Destination Project Steering Committee, Junior Achievement Program (York Region District School Board), The Glenwood’s Creek Ratepayers Association and, of course, The Georgina Chamber of Commerce. Renee’s many previous hats include marketing and publicity for The Red Barn Theatre, freelance writer, entrepreneur (on several occasions) and an accomplished multi-media producer in Toronto. Renee and her husband Bob are co-owners of The Biz Mates - offering businesses branded merchandise, apparel and marketing consultation as well as green event solutions.

Cor-Blimey! covers an area from Bradford through to Beaverton and recently won Georgina’s Micro Business of the Year award and also the Era Banners Computer Repair award. There are 3 core values that represent Cor-Blimey! and these are Honesty, Integrity & Professionalism. Apart from computers Mick’s other passions are Motorcycling Sidecar Racing (he owns a racing Team called Kazmik Racing which races out of Shannonville and select tracks in the US. Directors profile: Mike joined the Chamber and its Board of Directors in 2002. He has lived in Georgina for six years. Mike has 28 years experience in the corporate retail industry. He now operates four Stretch Thrift Outlets; two are located in Georgina, one on Church Street in Keswick and on High Street in Sutton. Stretch Thrift Outlets generate funds for local hospitals and for community organization services. Mike joined the Chamber to build awareness of his business and believes that participation in programs such as Shop ‘n Win not only promotes his business but also encourages residents to shop locally. Mike and his family have lived in Georgina for six years.

He has organized the Chamber Golf Tournament for the past six seasons and plays an active role in many Chamber events. John Mieske is the owner of Rusco Factory Direct York Region; His Company provides premium quality entry systems and windows. John has been in the industry for seven years, while his business partner has over twenty years of experience. John started Rusco Factory Direct York Region just over a year ago, taking the trade over from his father who is preparing to retire.
His franchise services York Region and surrounding areas. John was a first year chamber member when Al Fenton took it upon himself to support John’s move to a Director position. John is a fresh young face with lots of enthusiasm. John is also part of the P.I. Gang (Professionals with Integrity). He and his fiancé both own their own businesses and are part of the Chamber of Commerce, but make sure they have enough time at home to spend with their 2 year old baby girl Mickenzie. Some of John’s other hobbies included riding motorcycles, snowboarding and helping the Town of Georgina grow to be the best it can be. John was born and raised in Georgina and has watched the town grow up with him over the last twenty one years. John would like to see this local growth continue and assist in its development while raising his baby girl.

Directors profile: Jane along with her husband Jim and their 3 children have called Keswick home for the past 6 years. Jane opened the Herbal One Weight Loss and Nutrition Centre in her hometown, Newmarket, on September 6th 2005 after losing over 35lbs. as a client at the Keswick Centre. In April 2006, Jane acquired the Keswick Herbal One which has been part of the Georgina business community since January 2001. Jane brings to the chamber over 20 years of retail management experience and is committed to positively influencing health and wellness within the community. With a focus on client support and community involvement, Jane and her team have been the recipients of many Readers Choice Award for York Region and Georgina and the winner of the Team Spirit award for The Big Bike for Heart and Stroke for the past 2 years.

Directors profile: Robin has lived in Keswick for eleven years. In October 2006, Robin became the owner of Fitness Force in Keswick. She has an extensive background in retail management and purchasing, with a strong customer service focus. In 2009 Robin added to her business portfolio and became the new owner of the popular SNAP Georgina newspaper. Through her Chamber involvement she hopes to influence and support fitness and health as well as encourage community spirit within Georgina.

Tricia Soulier is the owner of Pawsitive Approach Pet Services Inc., a business that focuses on providing care for pets and relief for pet-owners. Winner of the 2006 Small Business Excellence Award, Tricia has been a member of the Georgina Chamber of Commerce for six years and has held the position of Director, for the past two years. She has over 20 years of experience providing care for various domestic animals both in their homes and veterinary office and holds certificates in Pet First Aid/CPR, Companion Animal Specialist, and Canine Therapeutic Massage and Reiki Healing, and is the founder of the Sutton Fair & Horse Show Pet Contests. Tricia is a Facilitator, Consultant and Mentor to her team. Tricia has made her mark in the non-profit community by volunteering with several animal rescue services including the OSPCA. Aligning herself with Animal Control and Rescue organizations, veterinarians, trainers, educators and groomers, Tricia is an advocate of animal knowledge and care in the community. She also sits on the Board of the Keswick Off-Leash Dog Park Association. Through her passion and associations, Tricia is recognized as the voice of animals in our community.

Ross Jamieson has served on the Chamber's Board of Directors for a total of thirteen years, as the representative of the Town of Georgina. He has been a member of Georgina Council for a total of twenty years and has served on numerous town committees including the Economic Development Committee and the Keswick Business Park Steering Committee. He truly appreciates the valuable work the Chamber of Commerce does in our community.

John Sibbald grew up by Lake Simcoe on the Briars property. The Sibbald family has been associated with Georgina since pioneer days. Jack Sibbald, John’s father, took over The Briars after the First World War and soon offered prize winning butter and the first pasteurized milk throughout York Region, Muskoka and Haliburton. Jack Sibbald also built a cottage colony around a wonderful nine-hole golf course. In turn, John Sibbald served the resort industry at all levels and ran the Red Barn Theatre from 1973 to 1993. In 1977 John took over the family manor house and opened the resort for year-round use. The Briars has since earned a number of prestigious awards and has granted easements to the Ontario Heritage Foundation for the Manor House and Peacock House. The Briars estate, operating as a family enterprise, now offers a wide variety of tourist facilities including golf and summer theatre at the Red Barn. The estate is recognized for its natural heritage by the Arboretum at the University of Guelph.
